Ein hochentwickeltes Computersystem soll an den EU-Außengrenzen Gesichtsform, Iris und Fingerabdrücke von Einreisenden aus Drittstaaten speichern. Dazu kommen noch Reiseziele, genehmigte Aufenthaltsdauer und möglicherweise Kreditkartendaten. Bei Überschreitung der erlaubten Aufenthaltszeit in der EU meldet das der Computer automatisch den Sicherheitsbehörden. Spätestens bei der Ausreise gibt es dann Probleme, die bis zu einem zukünftigen Einreiseverbot reichen können.

Diese Pläne zu einem vernetzten “einheitlichen Grenzsystem” präsentierte EU-Justiz- und Sicherheitskommissar Franco Frattini am Mittwoch in Brüssel. Der Vorschlag wird den EU-Innenministern vorgelegt.
