“If you gotta go, you gotta go,” student Quonterious Thomas told Eyewitness News in an interview Monday.Thomas, 13, says his language arts teacher, Jameeka Chambers, gave him two options when he had to go to the bathroom at Meadowbrook Middle School in Orange County. She said he could wait until the end of class or use her lunchbox in the back of the classroom.”If I had waited any longer, I would have peed on myself and that would have been even more embarrassing,” Thomas said, adding that his entire class of 19 students and his teacher watched.
When Thomas told his mom, she said she didn’t believe it at first and later realized how traumatized he was.
“I have never, in all the days been living, ever heard about anything happening in all my life. This is a really big shocker for me,” said Shameka Bryant, Thomas’ mom.
Orange County Public Schools told Eyewitness News the claims are under investigation. The district has taken statements from students in the class, but has not spoken to the teacher.
A Florida history teacher is out of the classroom after allegedly telling a 13-year-old student she had “nice, perky t**s” in front of the class, wftv.com reports.
The student accused William Musto, 44, of making the inappropriate comments about her body last Friday at Discovery Intermediate School in Poinciana, Fla. Musto has been reassigned to non-teaching duties while the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Children and Families investigate, wftv.com reports.
While the victim’s mother says she is filing a police report, some students are coming to Musto’s defense.
“He didn’t do anything! He just corrected someone about a dress code,” one emotional student told wftv.com.
“He acts like a kid. He tries to be cool with the kids. Sometimes words just come out and it’s too much,” another student said.
Osceola County School District will not release Musto’s disciplinary record, but some students told wftv.com that last Christmas Musto dressed up as Santa and had girls sit on his lap.
Musto will be working away from students until the investigation is complete, wft.com reports.
